Simulating materials with unusual microstructures

Thomas Radeke

Friday 23 October Theater 30

Most real-world materials can easily be simulated by physically-based renderers. This talk however focuses on surfaces that are difficult to simulate or need unconventional methods. In the presentation we will have a closer look at security holograms, retroreflective surfaces, CRTs and other subpixel displays, glossy anomalies on polished wood and even a lenticular print simulation with working stereoscopic effects!

More information and some downloads can be found on the talk website.
