Blender in production pipeline of planetarium shows (two case studies)

Artur Wolff, Ian Moffett

Friday 23 October Salon 30

Is it hard creating 360° movie for a projection system that covers a 15 meter (diameter) dome with almost 20 million pixels?

Ian Moffett (3D artist at the Casper Planetarium [Casper, Wyoming, USA]) and Artur Wolff (student at the XII high school in Olsztyn [Olsztyn, Poland]) will give a short presentation about shows screened in fulldome technology and their experience in making them, with Blender as a prime tool of choice. The talk will also cover feedback and discussion of pipeline improvement in Blender for fulldome projects.

Presentation length: 40 minutes
