I almost forgot to ask you this... The .bfont included in the Blender installation (which is Bitstream Vera Sans actually) lacks two of the letters needed for my language, so the translated tooltips and all were full of the usual small rectangles in place of the unrecognized characters. I edited the...

Initially I also used the Rosetta site for translating Blender into Romanian. But one thing I don't like is that if you make a typo or mistake and you later correct it, the previous wrong line remains as a suggestion, even if you are the same person who wrote it and then scraped it. Anyway, I resort...

Blender needs a more customizeable UI. I'm certain it will happen. But you said: This is all pointless discussion. :) Sorry to disagree on this one... The discussion is not useless. Even when Blender will have a much more customizable UI, it will still need the best possible Default interface the c...

Blender's UI is designed to [...] crank out models at lightning speed. Man... does repeatedly hitting the B-key whenever you need to add some more vertices/edges/faces to the selection make Blender the fastest modeling tool? C'mon... maybe you were not modeling a lot under the pressure of a deadlin...

...sort of like Corel did with their graphics suite, which contains optional UI configurations resembling Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The only problem would be following the tutorials and docs without problems, and that puts the newcomers at disadvantage... again. :? Anyway... while I'm at it, ...

Oops... the bad pixelation was caused by me unknowingly activating the "Use textured fonts" in the Preferences/Language & Font pane. Now the fonts look perfectly good. Sorry for not being more careful... :? So there remains only the: (1) "unbreakable" tooltips, (2) misplacing them on the screen (3) ...

Thanks, man, for including the patch. I tested it, and unfortunately it doesn't work, no matter what the UI language is selected in the preferences. On the contrary, it misplaces and pixelates the tooltips as you can see below: http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/3534/ttwrong18pf.png http://img136.im...

How can I break the tooltips on two lines?
I know this is not directly related to the Blender Summer of Docs, but I have a question about translating Blender's UI, and here's the best place: I translated part of the Blender UI in my language with LaunchPad, but I can't make the long tooltips appear on two lines. They appear ok in LaunchPad (...

Re: Welcome to the Summer of Documentation!
Soo... just translating the whole documentation and the QuickStart guide in my language wouldn't qualify?

Please unify the units system for all the import plug-ins
Hi there, and a big thank-you to all the people who wrote the many import plug-ins for Blender. Very useful indeed! :) The only trouble is that when I import models in different formats, they don't match by default: one of them looks ok (.lwo for example), but an .obj or .cob object is way too big, ...
