Blender 1.46 in Ubuntu 10.10

Hi,

I am not sure why you would want to build 1.46 since 2.49 comes with 10.10 (from Ubuntu Software Centre)

I also had no problem putting on 2.55 and 2.56.

Must be something basic I'm not undersrtanding here.

CTL-LMB Add Bone 2.49 vs 2.56

If I want to add a bone to a pre-existing one in 2.49 I can add it to either end. Why can't I do that in 2.56?

Is there something I have to [un]set?

Math Axes

Math axes are not like Blender which is what bothered me right away after all we start with 2D on x,y in plane geometry etc. and then add z when working in three dimensions. I wonder what the history of Blenders axes is?
