Problem, that only works for systems you control or have sufficient access to. Which is not the case when one renders on a renderfarm like respower.com or network.com Would be nice if the memchache would be saved into the blend itself and used if the machine has sufficient memory, otherwise reduced ...

This is what the layer are for.
Lamps can be set to light only whats in one or more layers. But in the layer what you want the lamp to shine on.
I know about that, however 20 layers is here the main problem.
Letting a lamp be limited to a group would make away with that.

Lights and Groups

Alo,

I would like to see the following feature.
Set in the parameters for a lamp the group it can effect.

currently one has to set the lamp in each material seperatly, which is great.
But which is also a PITA to limit a lamp to a large ammount of materials and error prone.

I know that, however it its subobtimal if you have say 1000+ objects in the outliner.

Not only a horizontal scrol, but a better vertical scroll as well.
In fact all scrolls do suck in blender.

Some more stuff: 1) Tearoff tool choice windows. For toolks that popup a list of choices to set the mode of operation each time it is called, like knife, merge etc. Make it so that that list can be manipulated as a normal window/panel and kept open with the choices list. Add a checkmark to the choic...

Interface Feature requests

1) I think it would be benefitial to have the little info windows that popup after certein operations like merge (1 vertex removed) etc reloacted to a into line at the top, or bottom of the 3d view. That would speed up the workflow by removing the need to acknowledge that info. 2) I would like to be...

Feature request: Alpha sensitiv material/light

Ok, what i would like to have is a material setting that fades a materials alpha value depending on how it much it is hit by light.

Reason, when doing a planet it would then be easy to create a light map for city lights etc that will show up only on the parts of the planet that lays in the dark.

Very obviously, Blender is used for a lot of different things, and those users have different needs. Therefor hard coding things such as the always shaded view might be code for one part of the blender people, for the other it is bad. The only logical way is to allow a lot more customonization and o...
