is it really that much of a problem to release it both formats? Say .zip for the windows versions and .tar.gz for everyone else. I personally use OSX and stuff it can handle both without a problem, and sometimes windows doesn't like .tar.gz's.

Funny, phpBB has become a defacto stanard with message boards.

Although I still the older 1.4.x installed on all my sites. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

For any sites that require an easy to use, fairly secure CMS, I recommend geeklog. They focus more on security than the NUKE family. For a basic website CMS I prefer phpWebsite.
