Also I find it incredulous that users are all adding their own features. The core developers are adding features on user feedback, arent' they? I believe Blender should have an official forum for feature requests and the developers can pick and choose themselves to see if they can implement these. M...

I've looked at the Blender codebase before and found it too complex to add a feature myself. At the very least the Blender Foundation should either provide technical documentaton describing how the application hangs together or mentoring as with GSoC projects.

I'm wondering how Blender's stereoscopic imaging can be used with VR goggles like the Vuzix VR920 (including head tracking). Anyone know?

Feature request postings?

Is there an official listing or forum where users can suggest feature requests? I've entered two in the 'Interface and Tools' forum but I'm unsure if these will be picked up by the developers.

Support for virtual reality goggles?

I was wondering if Blender supports VR goggles such as the Vuzix VR920 and if not what would be needed to support these, including head-tracking (included with the VR920)

You could make a kick-ass flight simulator using the Game Engine and VR goggles support.

Feature Request: Make planes visible when viewed edge on

I'ld like to propose that planes and lines are visible when not selected when viewed edge on.

Feature request: Add Vertex

How about an extra option to add a vertex in the Alt-A menu? That way we won't have to remove 3 vertices from a plane and recenter the object origin.

No. But I found it: there's a button called 'Occlude Background Geometry' which does the trick. It's next to the Render button in the 3D View window.

Hidden vertices / edges / faces removal in Edit Mode

I always keep selecting the wrong vertices / faces / edges when I'm in edit mode. This is because there's no hidden vertices / faces / edges removal is present by default. Is there a way to turn this on? If not, I'd like to propose this as a feature.

That's a dilemma I see very often: management doesn't want to refactor code because it adds no new features. A proper refactoring can greatly enhance the code's ability to absorb change in the future, makes it more readable, more flesible and reliable. The internal code doesn't need to change all th...

Ok thx found it. The 2.5 code seems to have been reorganized somewhat in seperate directories. Funny that they use 'Button' to signify any type of widget, anagolous to Window or Control on other operating systems. Blender is still written in pure C with some C++ thrown in. Understandable since the c...

Blender GUI code

I''ve downloaded the source of 2.49b and I'm looking for the source code of the GUI (i.e. the buttons, controls, frames) and how it hangs together. Anyone which file(s) these are located in? I'm also looking for similar code for 2.50 Alpha 0. If haven't found the 2.50 Source code yet, though. I want...

Yeah, and that was the last time I ever bought an Fujitsu-Siemens computer too. They changed the hardware just enough so it can't use the generic ATI driver, but with no noticable advantages.

My driver version is 6.14 (22-06-2005) so I downloaded the Catalyst driver for the Radeon Xpress 200M but the program says it couldn't find the correct hardware for the driver.

This sucks. Looks like I'm stuck.

How to check if OpenGL acceleration is enabled in Blender?

On my Windows XP machine, which has an ATI MX200 graphics card, Blender runs very slowly. When I swtich between Object Mode and Edit Mode the switch takes a full second, if not 1.5 seconds. My Linux machine, which has a newer Nvidia 9500GT videocard the switch is instant. However, another OpenGL gam...
