No, you can choose the render window to open anywhere on the screen. 2.40 just defaults to the centre (which I happen to preffer).

BTW, many many thanks to all the people who put so much hard work into this project. I couldn't have asked for a nicer Christmas gift!

Hmmm, perhaps I wasn't clear in my description.

The square has a blurred UV map and the ball has a blurred reflection map. Notice how the maps become "sharp" when viewed through a refracting lens.

Ray Transp problem

Has this happened to anyone else? When I put a refracting object infront of something with a texture on it, the texture of the object behind isn't rendered correctly: 1) An image texture mapped to Ref with filter set to blur it ends up rendering crisp and sharp when seen through the refracting objec...

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know about that one.

It works well for a rotational movement, but the problem of trying to easily constrain a bone to a "twisting" motion about it's y-axis remains.

Locking bones feature request

I can't code, so I'm humbly putting this request to the coding comunity to which we all owe so much: I would love to see a feature that would allow you to lock a bones rotation in the x,y,z axis or any combination. This way you could make a ball joint, hinge joint, or a twist joint. It would also gi...

Tutorial Wiki

Perhaps this has come up before, but.... Wouldn't it be handy to have a Blender Tutorial Wiki site where people can add, modify and discuss tutorials as Blender develops and changes? Seems to be a great way to keep the tutorials not only in one place, but also up to date. I was looking at the wiki e...

constraining movement

Blender has a great feature that will let you constrain an objects rotation to one axis - either local or global. Wouldn't it be great to have a feature like this for movement too? In other words, by pressing x,y or z durring a move, one could constrain an objects movement to a global or local axis....

There are plenty of resources on the web to get textures for people who are to lazy to make their own. Also, why waste screen space on a button that will only be used by newbies and then never again by proficient users? It will only guarantee that all newbie renders will look the same.

Just giving Wings3D a "Blender" export option would be nice.

I've used both Blender and Wings3D for some time now. Both programs have advantages and disadvantages. I like to model in Wings and then export to Blender - no problem. I understand that the Wings data structure is bulky to enable it to do what it can. Why add that "bulkyness" to the Blender code? I...

I think the wording of your question is a bit unclear. I voted that it should be changed, but let me qualify that: I like the interface of Blender very much, and I think that it's general look and feel should remain. There remains, however, room for improvement, and that involves change.

It seems that Blender has given a lot of people video card problems (myself included - I still have unresolved problems on my desktop  ). I wonder how many potentially great Blender users are turned away by this initial stumbling block? How about we make the video card problem a high priority w...
