seems the image module limits you to 5k*5k. Which is probably a reasonable size limit if there really has to be one. In 2.43 you will be able to do this. You have to export an .mdd file from the animated object then importing back in will save the animation as shapekeys.

if you look at my mdd loader I do just that https://projects.blender.org/tracker/in ... 9&atid=127

the last thing I do in that script is take shapeKeys (key 1,key 2,key 3) and assign them ipocurves with the values you have described.

finaly got around to getting this done

I did somthing simular with my mdd importer using a scriptlink to create shapekeys and create and set ipo values for each frame.However for simplicity reasons I wrote each frames vertex data to text buffers and had the scriptlink read the data from the text buffer.It works well but is very slow beca...
