- Topic: is drawing essential for 3d modeling/texturing...etc

Knowing how to draw is mainly a matter of practice, just like pretty much anything. I always thought my drawing sucked until I was accepted into art school based solely on my drawing (the only thing I had to show). So that brings me to another point: you can't judge for yourself whether or not you'r...

OS: Windows 7 x64 CPU: dual Xeon 3.2 gHz (Dell Precision 670) RAM: 4 gb Video: GTX-560 Ti DS Note: I upgraded from a GT-220 to my current video card and until I uninstalled and reinstalled (from the disc) the drivers, Blender was erratic. Whether this was because of such a radical change in cards or...

May I suggest that it would be a good idea to post the Sintel logo and logotype on Typophile's design forum... http://www.typophile.com/ It's where a lot of top typographers and design professionals hang out. You can be sure to get expert constructive feedback there, and also increase awareness of ...

The varied reactions to the changes in 2.5 are very interesting to read. For the most part, the negative comments seem to prove out something I've come to realize in other areas of life: what a person is used to is far preferable to change. Or, in other words, better the devil you know. I've 'looked...

Re: Problem with 2.57
Dear all, Just now I downloaded the 2.57 version to test it and it crashes on start up with a problem apparently with OLE32.dll. I get an MS error report dialog with that in it. The odd thing is that on another computer it works just fine and 2.47 also works fine on this computer. Both the .zip and...

Something else to look at... In User Preferences, click on the "Input" tab. You'll see "Presets" at the top of column one and just a drop-down in column two. I don't remember which of these actually changes the mouse/view behaviour, but... If both of these drop-downs are set to Blender, you'll have ...

Re: I can not use middle mouse button to rotate in 3D.
I am on mac using a logitech mouse and I just can not get it to work. I have set the mouse button to advanced click and made it button 3 but it does not work. I have the same problem, but on a PC. By experimenting, I found that Alt and the three mouse buttons somehow got assigned to rotate/pan/zoom...

I'm not really new to Blender; I've looked at it several times over the years. That said, I am new to this forum, so please forgive my temerity for just jumping right into a discussion, but I think I have something of use to add... Any form of thinking that helps someone understand what's going on i...
