[quote="ldo"]The question is, are they violating the GPL? The Blender GPL states: You can NOT change Blender's copyright notices, nor make claims you wrote or created that program. He was violating that part of the agreement about a week ago. I read his website and he was claiming to be the originat...

Illusion Magic(Blender scam) is advertising through facebook

You may already be aware of this , but I just ran across it on Facebook after recognizing the image in the advertisement as one from the Blender website. They do claim on this website to be the originators of Blender's software. http://www.illusionmage.com/ I know this was already discussed in the p...

Ok, for the sake of anyone else new to these changes: My problem was that Blender 2.42 is defaulted to the new physics engine: Bullet. I was designing using the old physics engine: Sumo. The button to switch between these two physics engines is in the World button next to the Gravity button. This ch...

Objects aren't moving right for me in 2.42 beta

I was trying to make a math race game for my students. My quick mock ups work fine in 2.41, but in 2.42 beta when I set a square on a plane and start the game it won't stop bouncing and it falls over. Also, I have problems getting it to rotate after I have made it dynamic. It works just like I plann...

Also (if you haven't already) check out greybeard's video tutorials on his site. There are a few more there that aren't on the Blender website.

The Soft Body Tutorial is an especially great one if you are unfamiliar with softbodies.

If you are unhappy with the results of normal blender glass you may want to try the Yafray plugin. I found it extremely easy to make realistic glass just messing around with it. My second week Blending I created several versions of a wine glass and put them as a background on my computer at work. I ...

Awesome, thanks! Great book Jim. I was sure there had to be other educators using blender, but I hadn't heard of any. I'm just winging it, but so far it's going really well. I think it would be nice to have a website, or section in the forums perhaps dedicated to the use Blender as it relates to edu...

Ok! I hadn't ever used the N Key (Transformation Properties) before. That definitely helps. Thanks.

Promoting Blender, could use a hand.

I am a computer teacher at an elementary school. I found Blender October of last year. Since then I have integrated blender into my curriculum and it is helping our kids to better learn geometry, math, and science. They are currently finishing up a lesson in which they have modeled the solar system....
