have you tried mailing the bf-commiters mailing list about this - there might be some developer there who'd be willing - or have you checked on http://www.blenderjobs.com - they're mostly artists but there are a few coder's I think (not sure though) - also, you should try to explain better as well p...

Whoa! - you posted only yesterday, I thought this project was long dead!!! Sorry to hear about your hard drive problem (is it really not possible to recover the data off of it?), Your project reminds me of QNX, having a small core component and loading additional modules on demand. Anyway - keep on ...

Sounds like you ought to read up on the DNA here: http://www.blender.org/cms/Notes_on_SDNA.436.0.html and here: http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/DNAStructs I think the reason why it hangs is because some memory needed by your new feature(s) is not being initialized properly when fil...

oohh - we're on RC3 now; one slight problem, I downloaded the py24(not static) version for linux but it seems to have all hardware accelleration turned off - the menus and splash screen display really slowly - and it crashes instantly the moment I start the game engine. Anyone else got this same pro...

The split-screen/viewports feature that was added recently seems to be broken now! :( Also, when running games in general, I suffer from repeated crashes(non reproduceable) which take the whole system -linux- down(esp. on Erwin's stress tests) - these crashes were present in other releases too but h...

A segmentation fault is usually related to a memory access problem(I think). You could try running blender in debug mode but this probably won't give any useful hints as to what's wrong - I'd suggest you post it on the bug tracker if it's not directly related to the compile problems(i.e. you have pr...

I think the radiosity code in blender needs a recode anyway so it probably isn't that easy to add - but you might be able to persurwade someone to do it with a bounty if you want it that desparately!(or you could try on http://www.blenderjobs.com) -epat

bf-blender / Linux i386 (2006/06/13)
I noticed the lack of linux i386 builds recently and decided to have a go at it myself - get it here: http://www.graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=151 there's no sound support in this build however :( openal threw up a bunch of errors so I compiled without it! Note: this buil...

I use mandriva 2006 too - not the 64bit one though, but from my experience it shouldn't be neccesary to modify linux2-config.py to tell scons which is what I use where all the librarys it needs are. But first looking at your output, it sounds like you haven't got the gl-devel librarys installed on y...

@xsinick: 1) Yes, blender can do a quick opengl preview render of any 3d window - click the little button at the rightmost side of the header.(press ctrl while clicking for an animated preview render - set the path to save to first though or you won't be able to play it back later) You'll need to go...

From what I've heard, files saved in the 64 bit blender builds are unusable in 32 bit versions. I don't know whether this has been fixed yet in CVS but certainly in 241 it is quite a serious problem. I wouldn't recommend using a 64 bit build of blender untill this has been fixed!(especially because,...

about the screensavers - I remember reading something somewhere about that sort of thing, I may be wrong (and probably am), but I thought that if you renamed an .exe file to .scr, it has all the options and things required for screensavers anyway. I can't test though because I'm running linux (and t...
