Humm.. under /Developer/SDKs/ I only have MacOSX10.5.sdk and MacOSX10.6.sdk. This is a clean osx 10.6 installation, and I installed the xcode tools that came with it (on the dvd). Why is it trying to use something 10.4? On osx 10.5 building worked fine, so this seems to be a problem that was caused ...

Building troubles on osx 10.6

Hi, Blender doesn't want to build on osx 10.6. I'd appreciate all clues about what's going on. Failing right from the beginning: Configuring program blender scons: done reading SConscript files. scons: Building targets ... Compiling ==> 'SND_DummyDevice.cpp' cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line...

You can use shapes (vertex keys) for that. Create two shapes and you're able to animate the transformation between them.

Check that you're using the latest graphic card drivers. Your specs are fine, I've used an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ not so long ago and even that one worked ok. What I suggest is turning off subsurf modifiers in the 3d view, or at least using low subdivision levels. Also, switch on the 'view fps' system ...

Bug tracker dies after I log in

I can view the bug tracker before I log in, but not afterwards anymore. I have two bugs I'd like to submit, but it's impossible now. I try to open the tracker, but all I get is an endless "loading..." in my browser(s).

Thanks for any help

Also check that all packages are installed. I had to install libsdl1.2debian-all instead of libsdl1.2debian-alsa (or something, don't exactly remember =)).

Souns like both are linked to the same action. You need to make a new action for one of the armatures.

You'll get more response at www.elysiun.com. You could try approaching animation through some kind of step-by-step guide to give you an overview of the process. Technically it isn't by any means an impossible task but involves keeping a clear head all the way from planning to finished product. Blend...

Time to move on to something else.
Couldn't agree more.

In theory learning Maya (or any 3d package) isn't any easier than learning Blender, but if the way Blender works doesn't seem to fit your way of thinking, learning it may feel hard. Use the ones that suit you personaly instead.

I'm not completely sure on what you actually want, but try "map old" and "map new" in the Anim/playback panel. In your case leaving map old to the default 100 and setting map new to 50, for example, would make your animation run twice as fast. You could then render it at 30fps.

I guess what you've tried is in fact the right way at the moment. There's no out-of-the-box DOF in Blender (in case you're not using yafray for rendering).
Couse you can't have a beautiful picture without some focus
That's one of those debatable questions again.
