hy, I installed blender with the ubuntu add/remove tool - not with synaptic. But I think the result should be the same. Try to use the ubuntu software update to be up to thate with your x-server stuff. When I installed the last xfree update everything worked fine. Pleas look at your xfree-config fil...

hy, I just wanted to ask if you solved the problem already. I use ubuntu 6.06 where I can install blender 2.41 without problems - it works nearly; when entering play-mode it segfaults. I had this problem on debian woody where a apt-get dist-upgrade solved it :-) but this does not work here :-( any i...

Reformulating the question

I thought that the vehicle extention is official part of 2.42 - if it is not the question is when the vehicle-stuff will be in an "official" release and when will this release be available?.
