I was just about to post something like this, but for straight lines. We need something like the "draw beziers and straight lines" tool in inkscape.

thanks for your reply, unfortunately I just realised that my architecture project is due in three weeks, not six, as I had previously thought. so it's not going to happen for a while :)

when I get back on it, I'll post progress here.

mouse scroll zoom

hey all. trying to find the source for the mouse scroll-wheel zoom function in the 3d window of the blender interface. can someone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to see if I can bring the diretional zoom from inkscape (Ctrl+mousewheel) across to the blender 3d window, as per my feature ...

yeah, I simply meant irregular polygons: ie, not pentagon, hexagon etc.. basically I just want a way of keeping a bunch of vertexes planar, ie. if I have a bent wall that I need to make higher, I can select the top (bent, but planar) face and drag it upwards. another useful tool would be to merge pl...

Also having a similar method for changing the lens size of the camera dynamically would be ultra cool. that might be a better use of the alt+mousescroll, as the scroll through animation scenes is already catered for in the arrow keys. I'm sure not everyone would agree to that, but it's a matter of ...

awesome, sounds great.

are ngons simple n-sided polygons, or can they be odd shapes as well?

feat request: faces w/more than 4 vertices OR group vertices

is it possible already? am I missing something again? it would be really good to be able to make a number of co-planar vertices in to one face, for example a circle with 20+ segments. perhaps this would require a large re-write of the blender engine? a simple way might be to allow vertices to be gro...

??? What else? Move the edge without moving the verteces ??? sorry, I was thinking along the lines of sketchup too much, in that program, you CAN push/pull the edge/faces, but it's pretty much the same as the blender extrude function. I was also thinking along the lines of archicad's ability to cre...

Umm. you can already do this. Rolling Eyes so you can. sorry for not checking first. perhaps though, there is still something in this thread: it would be good to be able to able select faces, edges, or vetices WITHOUT having to change the select mode. or perhaps have a fourth select mode, where you...

great idea for a feature! Couldn't you just extrude the circle and the boolean it with the mesh? no, because that would remove that part of the arch, which would then have to be re-contructed. there are more reasons for laying paths on to objects than just cutting holes in them. extrusion for example.

feature request: select faces and edges

it would be great if, in blender, you could right click on a face or an edge, and select it. this would make it much easier to select the part you want and then do specific operations to it, rather than having to select each vertice that makes up the edge or face. perhaps it could even be done so th...

feature request: mouse scroll zoom like sketchup & archi

a lot of 3D applications use a system of mouse-scroll zoom where the position of the mouse on the screen defines the centre of the zoom. this is great, as it means that you can zoom right out of a scene, and then move you mouse and scroll back in to another part of the scene, all in two easy movemen...
