stephenbuck, sorry to go on this Indigo / OT, but it's a fascinating renderer. Inktvlek given that I tried every version of the exporter I found since you guys started it, I found that there is always something missing (I edit the xml by hand, so that's a detail). Then, the problem is that after the...

Any chance that there will be a method to set the meterial of a Text3d object? Thanks.

If it's already worked on, sorry for the thread.

Cheers.

OK, the high res is not so high res, but did you see how cool the caustics were? White light gets decomposed into rainbow... That's really neat.

OK rcas + lukep : now I say  :D ! Thanks for those pointers! What a treat. Some of this stuff is ART, as in real art. But I still believe Yaf is on par w/ POV. When I tried POV a few years ago, and it bugged me because of its lack of integrated GUI and it left me with a negative bias. Similar...

rcas: It's nothing personal, but here are my 2 cents. In short: "I don't think so". But if someone capable in both programs shows me a comparison that tilts the balance, I'd be happy to see this effort undertaken. To do this, however, everybody would need one or more source blender file available, s...

zlop, Thanks. I always love to see new renders. So, I checked out the gallery. It is one of the best I have seen. Lots of superior work there. That site contains better scenes, compositions, than generally seen on Elysiun. However, I don't see anyting suggesting that their rendering engine is superi...

Well, I agree: I see a real need whether Yafray can do it or not. Yaf is a bit of a pain to work with, because to make a scene look good in Yafray, to tweak it in a way that probably won't work too well in regular blender.

ztonzy, I have seen your site (that's great that you have tuts). And you do great work, and I respect it. You probably know something I don't. I can only speak from experience, and I have never had the problem, no matter how complex my scene is. But, as suggested, I tried a white plane on a black ba...

Re: Blender has still crappy AA (OSA) ! ! !

...Blender's crappy AA(OSA-button) so that it can give us a decent renders...for now they look awfull !! Until I discovered the OSA button and how to use it, I was concerned, but the problem was I, not Blender. It works very well AS IS, if you set your rendering parameters properly. What BgDM write...
