Simple example : will you prefer using Telnet or mIRC ? VI or Notepad++ ? Bittornado or µTorrent ? That's easy. Irssi, VIM and Azureus. ;) They are doing the same things... but the easier ones are also the ones you want to work with. That's just ignorant. I want to use the ones that have the functi...

Re: About Blender interface...
The biggest rule of interface design is : the user don't care about manual. That's the user's problem. If the user can't be bothered to read the manual or tutorials to learn how to use a program, I can't really see how that particular user would do better using any other software, in the long run. ...

Active Camera won't change
Hi there, I've been having a bit of a problem right now... Blender doesn't render from the active camera's point of view, instead, it renders from the original camera's point of view. Haven't had this issue before, help please.
And yes, it's not the original camera that has the black tip.

[Feature Req.] Select -> "Inverse" hotkey
Inverse is a function I use all the time, and I would really like a faster way to access it. Perhaps by a hotkey, or by the "Specials" menu (w)?

[CLOSED][Feature Req.] Isolate
I'd like a fast way to isolate an object/mesh, or parts of one. I realize this can be done (by selecting, inverse selection, hide), but I just want to be able to "press the button". Wouldn't take much work, and I bet many people would appreciate it.

[Feature Req.] Minimize Panel
In addition to be able to maximize a panel, I think you should be able to minimize it. An example follows below. Let's say you've got two panels. One for normal 3d-view, and one which you have set to your camera ([0]). One thing disturbs you though, the buttons panel is just getting in your way! We...

OK great, sounds like something for 2.5 then.LetterRip wrote:talked to elubie last night, she is really busy with work for the next three weeks but might have time to finish after that. She is basically done, just some performance tweaking and policy choices for where to store preview images etc.

The image browser is done by me using code from frank, updated by zr. Nobody understands how it works. It's almost 10 years old code and was in need of a redo long time ago. But redoing a crossplatform a-sync (image) file version tracker is not an easy task. Ah well. Perhaps someone will take up th...

Better Image Browser
Firstly, I think it's the Image Browser that should pop up instead of the file browser when you press "Load Image", or try to "Open" an image in the uv-editor. Secondly, I think the thumbnails really should have more than 256 colours... It feels like the Image Browser has been forgotten or something.

I did this:
chown -R -v fredrik:video ../blender ; chmod -R ugo=rX,ug+w ../blender
But it's still not working. The scripts are there... here's proof of it:
