Sintel's Eyes

I checked the Blender site today (it's been a while...) and saw the Project Durian updates. I am amazed to see how well the Durian team is using Blender's new features -- subsurface scattering and all that jazz, nice! The animation looks like it's coming along nicely, and I really like Sintel's styl...

I'm really sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I found some more relevant information. If you use Synergy, a keyboard and mouse sharing program from http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/ on a Mac Pro, you'll get really weird front buffer drawing slowdowns. Back buffer drawing still works normally, thou...

Cekuhnen, do you build your own Blender versions? I have a patch available, but need to post it in the tracker. If you apply that, you'll be able to try it (I'll let you know when it's up). Bagration -- yes, we had seen that issue before; glad to see that you confirmed it. I'm pretty sure I know how...

EXPERIMENTAL 2D Image Texture drawing (Windows, OS X)

As outlined at http://wiki.blender.org/bin/view.pl/Blenderdev/CopyPixelsToTexture and http://elubie.de/blender/iconpatch/ , Andrea Weikert and I (Matt Plough) are working on replacing glCopyPixels image drawing calls with drawing textured quads. This will improve visual quality, provide the expected...

Malefico, I talked with DJCapelis earlier about 64-bit Blender, and there are a lot of code changes that need to be made before this becomes viable. He has already put together a patch dealing with pointers, but there is other code that relies on 32-bit integers and the like. I really don't think th...

Maybe your .b.blend is corrupt. Delete it and see what happens -- this is very basic functionality that works everywhere else, so I think something might be wrong with your setup. I hope that helps!

This might just be me being stupid, but what exactly is the issue with Blender and multiple monitors? I used Blender 2.23 on 19 inch CRTs in high school -- that was two and a half years ago. It worked great then -- what's the issue right now? While we're on the topic of multiple monitors, has anyone...

This wouldn't be all that hard to do. A non-parallel projection plane or an off axis projection plane need different projection matrices -- but not really anything else. A nice way to do this would be to create an edit mode for the camera that allows you to position and rotate the projection plane. ...

Linux compile w/o game engine, etc?

I searched through the forum and couldn't find anything -- could be due to my incompetence. Here goes anyway... I've never successfully compiled Blender on Linux before, but I've done tons of Cygwin compiles. I tried the other day, but couldn't get it to work. How do you tell make not to compile the...

I live in CT -- so I'm a bit closer to there than most. Right now I'm at Princeton in NJ, so it's a bit of a drive.

A yearly meeting of people who can't make it to Canada or Amsterdam would be quite cool.

I'm running iblender2 on Windows 2000, and there is a little mistake that would be good to fix. It seems that the default video output path is /home/intrr/blender/render . I know that you don't support Instinctive Blender more than a courtesy, but could you use a more common path for public releases...
