optimizations and benchmarks

hi. The not very indicative, and volatile blender benchmarks that i've done with my G4 laptop are as follows: with -O3 only (cvs 20061006ish) done in SCR-1-animation: draw (speed was primarily dependent on the blender window size (try it--- but shoot for more square window sizes... i'm not sure why,...
