Re: Break apart feature..does Blender have this?
Does Blender have a "Break apart" vertex feature? Here's an image to try and show it better: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/fflewddar/break_apart.jpg Basically the top planes all have their vertices welded together. If you click any vertex there, it acts as 1 vertex (so clicking the center v...

Maybe nobody is talking about that, but lets not get the "works on my cube" syndrome. Displacement map is to avoid high poly models. Displacement maps are to avoid high amount of 'physical' geometry by creating virtual and on demand geometry. This is not much different by zrs subdivision method. Yo...

Hey all, small update, 'Merge at First'! I didnt think this was nessecary until I actually used it and then was convinced about its utlity. Heres the patch.... this is really awesome. The only thing still missing is a way of working with a bunch of verteces that aren't connected yet. You've made som...

it is already in the patch tracker and he emailed bf-committers. From reading the patch the only hurdle I see is that he added another flag to the structs (that and we are in feature freeze...). LetterRip Yeah I looked at the code again today and cant really see a way around adding the flag. But on...

 The selection modality of course will affect certain features. For example, it would make no sense to try to select an edge loop (or what's now called a vertex loop) when in face select mode. Face select mode is purposefully exclusive of the concept of individual edges and vertices. That's ...

I'm in near total agreement. The difference between vertex, edge, and face select modes are cosmetic: they exist for convenience. To forcibly bind other functionalities to a visual representation (as opposed to a visual model ) is a form of programmer-as-user-syndrome (think just a little b...

I have to agree with Apollux, this does seem like an overcomplicated way of weighting the constraints, plus this is going to wreak havoc when I open up almost all of my old blend files. My tendency was to agree with both of you, but I wanted to check out how some other programs do it first. Sure en...

The ability to edit the mesh as whole (adding verts ect.) after the rvks are allready done is essential for makig the rvks useable. I don't even remember how many times I've just hit Q-Enter when I've allready made half of the rvks and then notice that I cant pull the next shape off without a new v...

Re: Turning off the axis selector for blender.
Well I mean a feature by feature change history, so people can know how far they have to go back to get a certain feature, or why a feature change was made.. It would be better than listing sets of features with each release because only then can you really know what progress you are making.. Few p...

Re: Turning off the axis selector for blender.
If there is a way to bring blneder users of yore up to date on the new version of blender, it would be good to have a guide to update blender users of say 2.25 or 1.5, up to 2.37 . Kinda like those books that orient C programmers to C++, or Perl to PHP. The 2.3 guide can be downloaded from this sit...

Hey Zarf, I really appreciate these builds. I've been trying to compile my own on OS X 10.3.8, but I'm having fits. The official link for OS X in the "compiling your own" thread is broken. Would you care to share what method you're using to compile (X-code, Scons, make?), and maybe some setup info?...

Re: BF-Blender OSX 10.3 8-4-05
If anyone has any space to mirror this, please do. Done. http://blendertestbuilds.kidb.de/index.php?dir=MacOSX/Zarf/ could you include the date in the filename, i.e. blender_20050804.zip or similar? I will start doing this with the next build I upload (probably around 12am CST) so the next one will...

BF-Blender OSX *UPDATED* 2005-8-23
Since there seems to be a need for more up to date OSX builds I thought I would do my best to fill that gap. The url below should be updated daily, but it might be sporadic at first until I can find a way to streamline and automate the whole process to occur while I'm sleeping :D www.umsl.edu/~gcbq4...
