OpenMP + Windows + free = MINGW32 ?
Hello, I read in the Sunday Meetings that there were some questions regarding OpenMP on windows. At my job I have explored several options for threading, and obviously, I looked into OpenMP. I used it successfully under windows with Mingw32 Tech Preview. I haven't trued to copile blender under windo...

BTW, At work we're using CMake a lot and I see that there is a CMake build system in Blender. CMake can target Makefiles (for Mingw, for Linux etc...), XCode and VisualStudio, so I'm asking myself why are there so many build systems (noticeably VS, Makefiles and XCode) when maintaining CMake should ...

Makefiles for 2.5
Hello! I'm interested in understanding how is implemented B2.5 as the redesign looks very promising! (from what I saw it's similar to MVC + Command Pattern). But I need to compile it and I'm wondering what system the developers are using for 2.5 as the linking process fails with makefiles. Are the m...

3DView rotate,pan,zoom code?
Hello! I'm working on a software which features 2D/3D display and my boss found the way blender handled the 3DView very efficient (and I agree) So I'm trying to recreate Blender's 3DView mouse controls (pan, rotate, zoom) in this software. I've browsed through SVN but I can't seem to find the starti...

Hi! Blender needs are in that case very specific (all is done in OpenGL) and changing that is not really an option. Even if the low-level backend can be C++ (GHOST is) we need a C interface for the main stuff. Hum, I'm not quite sure I understand this well. wxWidgets gives you hands on a wxGLContext...

edit: oh my, I think I'm off topic, I thought it was a general UI discussion, but after re-reading, it's more tool-oriented. Sorry for the inconvenience! Hello, First thing, I know that what will follow will rise the hairs on some people's skin, but I'm just tossing in some thoughts, nothing more, s...

Hum, that could have been interesting for me to attend at. I hope there will be notes of all these meetings on the web site! They could be precious! I used blender last year for the visualisation of results from morphometrical analysis software (Morphologika) in apes crania for my paleontology maste...

Hi n_t! thanks for your answer! I'll be trying the import script within the day, and as for the export script, I might as well try to code it in python (the only computer language I know) Hey Koba: I meant no offense! sorry! Anyway, this is already a great tool for many many applications! keep it up...
