Try Win 2000

I would try a copy of Windows 2000 Pro on that machine.

I still run it on a Desktop here and it is a lot leaner than XP.

Plus you have the advantage of driver support for Video cards.

Maybe you can find an inexpensive copy on ebay ...

Sorry guys, but I have to ask. I create a UV sphere ... Do a face select of 9 polys and Duplicate... <SHIFT d> now how do I make these polys their own object ? ie: If I TAB out of edit and select the new object on its own without th UV sphere being selected as well ? Shifting between draw modes ?

Selecting draw modes via menu button or hotkey "D"

sets mode to wireframe shaded only ...

How do I remove hiden surfaces ???

Normaly you can toggle by pressing Z or Shift Z in edit mode...

Blender is free (as in FREEDOM)

The source code is FREELY available.

The developers encourage people to join in the development process.

Is the source code for Maxwell freely available ?

I think this is its bastard son, If I remeber correctly, BMRT was originaly

released free as well, but was snapped up by NVIDIA several years ago.

Its a shame, BMRT was quite powerfull in its day ...
