Thanks for your replies. :) We do use the text editor, but it is not nearly visual enough for 14 year olds. They need something more immediate than searching through lines of text. The text editor is great, especially for lengthy descriptions - it still would be handy to have something connected to ...

Hi, You should really spend time reading beginner tutes. All your questions will be answered either on Youtube or other websites. But I'll give you a quick run down. -How do I draw a straight line in a default plane or through 3 dimensions? Do you mean cut a plane? It's called subdivide. Press W, th...

Hi Lexe, What does your plane look like without the subdivision modifier? Can you please post an image? The cockpit can be separate - but is it going to move? If not, then build it as part of the plane. Textures are a wonderful invention to make things look as though they are there, when they aren't...

Hi Lexe,

Do you use Gimp? If so, you can download the Gimp normal map generator plug in : http://code.google.com/p/gimp-normalmap/

This allows you to turn any texture into a normal map.

I have played around with baking, but for what I do the Gimp method seems to work best for me.

Cheers!

Use a Hemi lamp. This lights the whole scene equally.

With some exporting formats you have to make sure that the textures (images) are copied over with the new file in an external folder. Some exporting formats have issues with copying textures and reading them within the file itself. I have not used .x, but I know with some other formats this is the c...

Hi,

To add time in the IPO curve, you must select the nodes you want to move then grab them and move them along the time line.

If the nodes are orange they are selected, press A to deselect, then B to box select the ones you want to move, GX to move them along the line. :)

It wont appear in the object, it will appear in the materials folder. File> Append> Your file > Materials - is where the materials are stored. They are stored separately to objects. Make sure that you append the material not the image. The material should appear int he materials list if it has been ...

Hi,
What you are asking to do is avaliable in the online book called "Blender Noob to Pro", you should be able to find appropriate tutorials there. You can also check Youtube or you can re-ask this question at blenderartists.org.

Cheers!

Thanks OTO. :) The naming of the bricks gets laborious and is not descriptive enough. I teach Blender at my school and my students find it difficult to remember what the logic bricks do, especially after leaving the project for a few days, then coming back to it. It would be nice to have something t...

No worries! :) Glad to help. When you unwrap your first mesh, save the file as name1.png, then the second mesh as name2.png etc. Then in an image editor (I use Gimp) open one up, remove the white background so that the mesh unwrap is on a transparent layer, keeping only the mesh lines. Select that l...

BGE Logic Brick Commenting

Hi, Is it possible to enable comments on logic bricks in the BGE? For example, I have a reasonably complex logic brick layout and I would like to write a comment on some logic bricks so I can remember what they do. So it acts similarly to commenting code in Python with a # or """. I was envisioning ...
