Never mind - it seems adding a poll() function did the trick.

Information Panel: How to Update It?

I've got a simple panel that attaches to the 3D view (bl_space_type=VIEW_3D) information panel (bl_region_type=WINDOW). It displays only in pose mode. I want the panel to display some custom information about the selected pose bones. I generate this information in the draw() function of the panel an...

Make sure something is referencing the Action. If it's not the current action, you may need to add a reference using the [F] button (fake reference). Anything in the drop down list that has an O (orphan) next to it will not be saved.

There are a couple of other threads on this forum, asking similar questions, with no response.

If this cannot be done, then how do any game developers use constraints in their animations if their effects on the constrained bones can't be exported?

Please help!

COLLADA: how to export animation for constrained bones?

I have a character that I export to COLLADA, and all the arm and leg bone animations export fine. But for the eyes, I have them set to be constrained using TrackTo to a couple of target bones. The problem is, these eye bones don't export with any animation data in COLLADA. Even if I use Bake Action ...

OK thanks, but it's still useful for my purposes, assuming I can figure out how to pass in a context override when the operator call has arguments.

it's not working like that, you can't pass a context to operators. but you can set a context object like bpy.context.scene.objects.active = ob however, running operators from py console may not work. Some require to be run from 3d view (e.g. space bar menu) more info: http://www.blender.org/documen...

How to pass custom context to complex operator?

I've searched everywhere, but can't find how to pass a custom context to an operator that takes multiple arguments. This doesn't work, python says the keyword "context" is not a valid property: # assume code above generates to_export list override_context = { 'selected_objects': to_export } bpy.ops....

I'm not a developer, but perhaps someone who knows the code could indicate how difficult it might be to expose the current undo history size in the python API? Or perhaps it is already and I just can't find it in the documentation?

I'd still like to know how the get the current undo history index so I can later call bpy.ops.ed.undo_history. Using tessfaces doesn't help if I'm calling bpy.ops.wm.collada_export to do the actual export. My script does certain operations before export, then after export, it restores the state prio...

What if you want to do other things to the mesh before export, for example apply modifiers? Specifically I am looking to manipulate the mesh in script prior to export via bpy.ops.wm.collada_export, then undo back to the state prior to executing the operator. I'd like to know how the get the undo his...
