Thanks for the tip, but my render time for a video sequence is pretty fast. It takes a lot longer to piece together the PNG sequences than rendering the video. I think they should bring back the ability to render quicktime with transparency like in 2.49b. No offence, but importing a series of PNGs ...

In Quicktime pro, if You export the sequence to PNG codec, it preserves transparency! Also, rendering directly to video is a bad idea, if the system hangs, or anything happens while rendering, You end up starting from scratch! To be honest, I have no clue what that means... Under the rendering menu (camera icon) you go in the integrator, then You get the seed and clamp values. Both are used to reduce noise in the cycle render engine. Try .1 in the clamp, this might help, and You could try different seed, to find one that...

Are You using Cycles, and if so, have You tried playing with clamps in the rendering parameters?

It helps removing some of the artefacts!
