I'm doing a lot of Googling, but it appears that Blender is unable to do this (seemingly simple) task.

Sigh. It's free software. I must keep reminding myself of this.

How can I split my project into multiple .Blend files?

I am designing pieces for a game level which all fit together, and so they're all currently in the same .blend file. I've made 20 pieces and I now need to save each piece as its own .blend file - how can I achieve that? The only export options Blender has are for other file types. I guess I could du...

This is even weirder. My Start-up file sets itself, without my knowledge and without my permission. I swear I am not hitting Ctrl-U at any point while working on a project, yet at random, when booting up Blender, the startup file will be some past iteration of my project. I have to repeatedly select...

I found a solution for myself: View Selected

The scaling of a camera's move speed - Can I disable it?

As you zoom in with the mouse wheel, the camera's movements scale down. The is a great feature, but I don't want it. Can I disable it? SO OFTEN, I'll be trying to zoom into my mesh, but the scale of the camera movements is microscopic. So I am forced to go into fly mode (shift f) in order to actuall...

Thank you for explaining it. I see that Ctrl U is the shortcut for this. That's great. If anyone feels generous, I am still confused by Blender's method for closing a window. This is apparently how you do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0J1LKe-yAU I do exactly as he does, but to no effect. I don...

Why doesn't File/New make a new file?

I would like File/New to create for me a blank slate. Instead, it loads some previous project. How do I change this? How does this behaviour even make sense? Why would "New" mean anything except "clean", "fresh" or "blank"? I love this program, and I'm getting a lot accomplished with it so far, but ...
