1/ I am not asking for help. But thank you.
2/ I wanted to report curious behaviour of Blender from point of starting or inexperience CAD user.
3/ Measurements are essential considering fact Blender is aiming for 3d print.

Howgh :)

Thank you both for answering. Actually, with all respect I know the basics. Yes, I applied the scale transform (Ctrl-A) to get exactly 1 Blender unit cube. When I was talking about scale I was talking about setting as follows: Scene - > Units to Metric > Scale (under metric menu) For 1 meter example...

Metric (or measuring) system failed.

I use metric system and made 1 cubic meter and saved it as a file. Then, I used metric system and scaled it to 0,01 and save the same cube as 1 cubic centimeter into new file. So far so good. Then I created new file and appended my cubic meter and my cubic centimeter and guess what...? Yes, both obj...

Photobased 3d scanning

Hello,
I would like to ask if Blender Foundation plans to implement some tools for creating 3d mesh from photos? For example, to support Blender 3d printing ability.

Kind regards
Pavel

Supporting Blender by Render farm

After reading new Blender magazine it came to my mind whether is not possible to make some renderfarm by blender users computer? Power of this farm could be sold to support Blender.org and/or used for Blender official project. For example, I would gladly provide my computer performance to help blend...

Objects vs mesh

I would like to ask developers of Blender if they had ever though about possibility of implementing something like object behaviour in Blender. What do I mean? I believe it would be very useful if (for example) added sphere would be parametrized object called SPHERE with no possibility to switch to ...

I believe you misunderstood my intentions. I was not blaming blender interface, in fact, I suggested to create ChildBlender to make youths consider Blender interface as natural instead of 3d interfaces learnt from pirated copies of 3D Studio.

I am sorry if I had expressed my idea in misleading way.

Blender for children?

Greetings, I have two reasons why I am writing this post. First, as proud father of three year daughter I would like her to get loved Blender as I do :) Second, as witness of several discusses where blender interface was supposed to be too different from any other 3d software. (unfortunatelly, Teena...

I am ashamed, the point 2 is my total mistake.

It is not CTRL-ALT but CTRL-A, in object mode you can find here:

Hello Debonaire,

I agree it is quite strange behavior. Just go to user preferences (Ctrl+Alt+U) and check "Prompt quit".

It prevents you from closing app but didnt offer you to save work.

Try to go to edit mode and press N. Then check Mesh display-Numerics-Edge length" I believe you will be probably suprised by displayed length. Then go to Object mode and press ALT-S to clear scale and you find out that your object is back to 1 unit dimension. To do what you probably want to do is: 1...

Thanks

Thank you very much.
It would be perfect but I didnt find out if it is possible to assign some hotkeys or to associate with CTRL-TAB. Pressing SPACE and looking out in menu is too long for my intentions.

Mesh Select Mode adding new item All

Hello there, is it possible to implement for Mesh Select Mode (menu which appears in Edit mode after pressing TAB+ALT) another item ALL? I mean something like this: Vertex Edge Face All and ALL will allow to pickup all kind of geometry. Or is there any hotkey to be able to select all three elements ...
