Oh wow! I totally missed these tests as I've been more focused on the artist forums and didn't get an email on this one. Nice tests! That last one looks like it has a lot of color bounce, is it emitting color, or do you have the factor turned way up? There's been a bunch of discussion about this pat...

Sorry, took longer than expected to clean things up. Here's the link to the custom build. http://sdrv.ms/GFFXRY There is also a test scene in there if you don't want to set up a scene. Please let me know if you encounter anything weird and show tests if you have time! That will help when getting cha...

I have a windows build, but it doesn't have all the features possible to Blender. I think it has all the core stuff and is only missing OpenMP and motion tracking.

I'd be happy to share it with you. I need to change a few more minor things before I have a stable build. ETA sometime today.

Bah! Just found it. Turns out Windows explorer's search within files failed me again. I resorted to my old favorite linux tcsh search alias and it found it no problem. I even have .py files listed as files to search within in my indexing settings. Lame. The file is here if curious: release/scripts/s...

I looked quite a bit more last night, this one is killing me. The closest thing I can find is the file source/blender/makesrna/intern/rna_world_gen.c line 2561 it looks like this is where the property for the "gather method" button is being set up. EnumPropertyRNA rna_WorldLighting_gather_method = {...

What settings do you have checked? Try disabling all but Ambient Occlusion and see if that gives you the desired result. Also, try Raytracing Gather instead of Approximate, it should be more accurate, though currently there is no Indirect Lighting from Raytrace mode. With Approximate mode, I believe...

Also, forgot to mention... I tried the old Render branch version you are talking about, it is still available. Sorry I don't have a link off hand, but really there's not much of a point, because when I tried it it seemed very broken. Pretty sure it was suffering from the same reversed normal among o...

I ran into the same concern with Indirect not being available for raytracing. I find the Approximate stuff to be very innacurate - though fast. I think the accuracy can be improved, but I feel like in order to debug it, you really need the raytraced version for comparison. So I went ahead and downlo...

Changing Built-in Properties

First, my question: I am having trouble finding where the code lives which tells Blender what properties to build into the UI by default. I was assuming this would live in a Python file somewhere, but simply doing a search of all the files I was unable to come up with anything that looked like what ...
