CVS instructions

Just a quick note about the cvs instructions. It currently say "cvs co blender" By default cvs uses no compression to transfer the files. If you change it to "cvs -z4 co blender" it will automatically use compression which is faster for the user and uses much less bandwidth on the cvs server (checko...

This guy did
(rendered with POV-Ray)
All the objects in the scene are white and he used lights to add color to the scene. It is an interesting effect.

It allows you to zoom in and out on your model with the scroll wheel. Not that exciting but kinda fun :)

Re: What is CVS and what do I do with it?

I know this is a stupid question but I am confused about it. Thanks. CVS stands for "Concurrent Versions System" ( http://www.cvshome.org/ ). It is a tool programmers use to manage source code. If you are not a developer (or someone who wants to be one), that's all you need to know. CVS allows mult...

I bet you are right that that will not work. That also makes the comment make more sense. We need to do a setsize() for the ghost window. I don't agree that you should move the window when rendering it. Thanks for the insight.

Strange. It Worked For Me(TM). Thought I put in proper -I's as an add-on to INCLUDES. Hrm. I'm going to throw those dirs into the toplevel includes include-file in the next tarball. It looks like it is in the @BlenderGAME_TRUE@gameblenderincludes = \ @BlenderGAME_TRUE@ -I$(top_srcdir)/source/gameen...

First off. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I really hope this is the direction CVS Blender goes for the build system. Autoconf just makes things so much easier (pun definitely intended). I had a few minor problems making the latest tar ball. I just used a simple ./configure && make I am using an x8...

I have put a new version of the patch in the same place as above. This is to go with the new version of the new version of the autoconfiscation build noted here

(one of the files I had modified has moved in the new version).

enjoy.

Re-Render to the same window?

The first things that I have done with blender is to fix the things that annoy me the most :D. First was the zoom on the scroll wheel (I have already posted a patch for that :) ). Anyway on to the next thing that annoyed me. Every time you press the "render" button (and you are rendering to a window...

Charlls, I am sorry I think I was a little unclear about the way I envisioned things working. First, The end user should NEVER have to apply a patch or build anything. There should be only one blender available from blender.org in binary format (and source for those interested). In most open source ...

wait! I though the thing still dosen't compile? I have been using this guy's version... http://www.linux.ucla.edu/~phaethon/blender/blender-autoconf.html He wrote some autoconf scripts that make it a lot whole lot easier to compile (./configure && make). Hopefully these will make it in to the main ...

[PATCH] Scroll wheel zoom patch

I just started playing around with blender today. I have made a little patch to support zooming with the scroll wheel. It only supports X11 (but Mac and Windows support would probably be easy. if there is interest I will do it). To apply the patch go to the base of your source directory and type pat...

Agreed. I vote for a patch mailing list. Ton (and others who have write access) can then review the patches individually and apply them as they see fit. Until that is setup maybe we should post patches to one of the forums.
