A workaround I have used, create an empty where you want the object centre, model ect with actual centre. Then change by snapping cursor to empty, centering again on cursor to continue animation.

Already done... its called the game engine (GE) you can record object reactions to ipo curves for use in animations.

I think you mean where your avi file or whatever gets saved. In scene buttons (f10) look to left section, select output. Default is tmp, click the browse icon and choose a folder on your system. Dont know if this helps, check the options in 'armature bones' in pose mode, as well as an option to stop the bone deforming geometry there are options for numerically adjusting weight.
