Why can't a minimal python (a la windows version) be bundled with the OS X bundle? Is there something fundamentally different about the way python works on OS X?
I think that py2app already does this.

a really fast & dirty way of doing in would be to set a keyframe with the camera in each desired position at every frame. then just render out an animation as an imag sequence, and get it all rendered that way. So, I used the packages (I think they are Quinnstorm's) from the custom repositories referenced here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CompositeManager/Xgl?highlight=%28xgl%29 I originally followed instructions from that page to run Xgl as a session overlaid on X.org. (Method A on that page) This didn't work...

I'm using Dapper Drake + Xgl + Compiz (Xgl replaces X.org as main X server) and I have only minor problems running blender. My problems include: 1. that seems about right; OGL acceleration should still work under rosetta, no? Thus the only really intensive thing would be the rendering. Posing can be pretty toucgh too, unsure why that wouldn't be accelerated. Try comparing the speed of native blender in OS X , linux, and XP. XP now boots on all ...
