HiCarl, your problems more then likely are your graphics card. your card has to be openGL compatible,,and if it is then try, (assuming your using windows) slowing downthe hardware acceleration: right click your desktop and goto, propertys>settings>advanced>proformance and turn the slider down about ...

your right about the differances in the rendering speeds,

were all having the same problem, the bugs in the 2.25
renderer, and hopfully be fixed in the next release :)
