I updated the sources this morning (Europe) using

Code: Select all

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.blender.org:/cvsroot/bf-blender update blender
I never changed any of the source files.

compiling error (cvs May 6 2007) - KXH_ketsji_hooks.cpp

I try to compile blender from source to take a look at the new features. I cannot use a precompiled build because I still use python 2.4 on my system (should that still work?) System here: SuSE Linux 10.0 gcc 4.0.2 GNU Make 3.80 Compiling stops at KXH_ketsji_hooks.cpp: ====> gmake all in source/game...

I don't think that it is a problem to post such things here (i.e. work you did with blender) but you won't get many replies
hope to meet you on blenderartists

the url to the .blend seems to be broken from your description I'd guess that you have a constraint modifier that influences itself... edit: btw, it's better to ask for help on the blenderartists forum this is the developers forum - it is interesting to read but if you are no developer (i.e. if you ...

that is funny... I compiled a optimized version on linux today (sse, mmx, 3dnow); I enabled these features (for my athlon 2500) nearly the same way you did - I just used switches for each one separately: -mmmx -msse -m3dnow and I also enabled -mfpmath=sse worked perfectly and rendering about 17% fas...

blender2.43 freebsd build needs python 2.3

on http://www.blender.org/ , you find the freebsd build of blender-2.34 in the downloads section. There it says that it is compiled for python 2.4 while it seems that the build needs python 2.3 (and it is even dynamically linked or something - it would not execute) [0]% ./blender -w /libexec/ld-elf....

it's an ati-card... (and those often have issues)
1. update the driver
2. turn off harware antialias
3. if it does not help, turn off the accelleration... sometimes this works

the render engine does not know which face is on top of the other. on some places it happens to be the first, on others it is the second one I think even if they are exactly at the same place, at the 7th number after the comma they might be a little bit different and you get the speckles because one...

I think that the problem is that he does not use a 64bit build... so they complain about the missing 32bit libs what about compiling blender yourself? :D or use a 32bit system - 64bit is not faster, its just for systems that have more that 4gig of ram as far as I know third possibility: download a 6...

after maximizing the window, press the RMB and select horizontal. The panels will then get as big as possible but very likely not as big as your screen. The blender-window in the tutorial is very small so the panels are nearly as big as the screen. anyway, there is a limit to the size of the panels ...

this here is the developers forum (there are some non-developers here - e.g. me - but not many)... so not really the right place to ask such things but there is blenderartists where you will find help. I suggest switching off winmem before you try anything else. If you ask for help on blenderartists...
