n-gons

Hi. I'm currently working on 3d visual effects for a movie (I mean true cinema production, not some fan-made stuff) and currently we're on a modelling stage. My job is to create a photorealistic high poly classroom with all the details. I was doing it in blender until I've noticed that my meshes bec...

Blender on PS3

Since the PS3 can run linux operating system than maybe there is a way to use it's POWER and try to make some modelling/rendering in Blender. I've heard that PS3 has about 7 cores, 3ghz each. It sounds like a small renderfarm for 600$ :) Anyone tried it yet?

Rendering speed under Windows and Linux

Can anyone give me any info about rendering speeds in windows and in linux? I know that under linux it is quite faster but I don't remember how big is the difference (if it oscilates around about 10% then it would make it worth to give it a shot with a heavy animations rendering).

help me
You want us to learn for you or something? Mastering program like Blender takes about 2 years of learning and mastering any app to the level required for the movie industry takes much longer. So good luck ;)

Bevel

Hi - I know that this subject was discussed a couple of times before, but still AFAIK nothing has been made in that matter. I'm using blender for a couple of years now and it's great to see how powerful it became in this time. However it is really weird that an application with such powerful modelli...

How to change bone rotation via python

Hi - I'm trying to make a script in which I want to change bones rotation values. However it works and bones do rotate, but the problem is, that I don't get any transformation from objects parented to the bones. cube = Object.Get('Cube') driver = Object.Get('ramie') driverd = driver.getData() dp = d...

I agree with KDR_11k. Don't overimprove some things. Old Blender's way of vertice selection was great and I don't see any point to change it.

I've got a problem with this script. I've been trying to export an animation to the swf file but it crashes if it's longer than 30frames.
The console error is: "IndexError: pop from empty list"

well I don't know guys - recently I've been learning Maya and I must say - it kicks ass. It's interface is not very intuitive, but you have to rememer it's a tool for Professionals. If you want easy drag and drop operations just install Cinema 4d. And otherwise - Mayas and Blenders interfaces have m...
