I can see better where you want to go with the middle mouse btn axis constraint now, but it's indeed still very disorienting. Alt select for plane (defined by normal axis) is a good idea, but maybe some small filled polygon could light up in addition to the two axi defining the plane. two main thing...

piere-luc, nice timeline design! If this is being considered, maybe add a play backwards and step frame backwards too, if blender's animation systems support backwards playing that is (Something to consider already since the animation system is overhauled anyway, might be tricky with ik i guess )......

How about python scripts?

Since then you only use blender and it's api as is, and don't link to the code directly, i suppose those don't fall under the gpl either?

I'm not the main developer of Axiom, but been using it for a year. i'm mainly concentrated on other aspects of my project now, mainly a portal based scenegraph, editor related things are next, and an application like this is one possible use i had in mind, for collaborative architecture visualisatio...

Cool project. Have you considered using Axiom as the underlying 3d engine? It's a powerfull OO realtime rendering lib based on Ogre written in c#. I'm currently creating a game / editor myself that will have a few similar concepts as your project, with the editor being the game, the game being the e...

Right, that was my reasoning too when i wondered if it isn't a vertex property. For a real time engine there are only vertices with their data and connectivity. Besides, the 3d view also uses a hardware api, so there are already multiple vertices created if there are several properties (like uv coor...

again, the cursor is key here. new objects are placed at the location of the 3d cursor right? so why not it's orientation to? all existing functionality could be kept like it works by setting it to a screen space alignment mode (that is persistent and auto-updates), malcando could set it to persiste...

isn't this rather a vertex property?

a solution to this and a lot of other potential would be to make the 3d cursor have an orientation too. 3d cursor is a bit of a misnomer now, being only screen aligned. there could be a method then to align the pivot to objects or mesh structures, just like snap (shift-s) now, and a numerical input ...

sounds interesting, but why limit nla to character animation? It would be much more powerfull if you can have any object / hiearchy animation in clips, along with camera switching for instance. anyway, i'm not familiar with Blender's animation system at all yet... predefined skeleton's or rigs would...

remove edges would be a very handy addition indeed.

when you have a poly of two tri's and you want to remove instead of delete the inner edge for instance, giving a quad instead of a hole.
