There -is- a difference:

This might be the dithering done by openGL in 16-bit mode though.

Hello, Please take a look at: http://tinus.ath.cx/temp/blendercolor.png This is an example of how it could look like. Note: it was made by a simple hack of, say, 5 lines of code, so very simple. I myself thought it would be very pleasing to see a color-preview in blender. I also posted this a few mo...

Yeah, the current FB libs do not give any 3D accelleration at all, just plain 2D. It uses direct hardware access and could therefor be way faster than using X, if only the specifications were there. 3D accel is possible for FB mode, though, it's just not implemented, AFAIK. Just take a look at Apple...

Re: I voted change...

I think Blender is amazing, and the interface is part of that opinion. After three books and countless hours I finally have a clue what I am doing. But, that was when NaN held it and there was not time or money to consider the interface. Now Blender is open, and many eyes can look and change the co...

Hmm, seems my previous message got sumbitted multiple times, yet I received an error every time I submitted them ... I -could- email, but I'd rather paste it here, so others can do-it-themselves too. Since I've done multiple modifications I cannot paste the exact line numbers. blender/src/drawobject...

Backface culling

Hi again, I've done some more coding and managed in doing back-face culling. For those who do not knwo what that is: this makes blender not display the faces/lines on the backside in wireframe mode. see: http://tinus.ath.cx/temp/noculling.png http://tinus.ath.cx/temp/culling.png for examples. -- tinus

Well actually the current color is just taken from the material being assigned to the object. This seems kind of logical to me.

Colored wireframes

Been waiting for colored wireframes? Here they are:
http://tinus.ath.cx/temp/blendercolor.png

Trying to make some on/off-switch somewhere, any suggestions? I was thinking of adding another mode to the 'drawtype' icon in the toolbar below the edit screen.
