Beginner Question: multiple Compositions in parallel ?

Hi there, I am struggling with the concept of mixing 3D animations, compositions and videos in the Video Sequencer. So far I found out that I can have several SCENES in one blender project and add them as independent tracks in the VSE sequence editor. I have done one composition, but I cant create a...

Since I tried to create a visual layout of the dependencies using UML tools, these diagrams are much too complex (>1.000 tables and > 10.000 fields). My idea is, to create...

tradtional testing = proof to your customer that software is error free (only test features that you happen to remember at the end of a project) test driven development = write down requirements first, formulate a test for each feature, then code; collect complete system functionality in your testsu...

Besides improving the technical ability, there is also the aspect of limited time to do so ... Yes, you are right. Stil yet there is a decision how you use your time, what programming tools you decide to use, what parts you decide to take from existing GUI toolkits, what to create from scratch. Pre...

I wish I knew how to program and had the necessary access to the code I would do it myself. You can learn how to program. It means, studying yourself by reading, searhing for information, watching lectures, trying yourself. All the code is available for you, and it's free. It's a long and hard way,...

Hello everybody, since Version 2.5 and the new API is on its way, I want to throw this question into the arena: What about designing a complete new UI for blender ? Are there any plans for that ? I would like to create a totally different UI using blender window, but creating a somewhat more competi...

It's not that easy. Blender is a very nice software with lots of features despite its lack of a modernized UI.

The question is: What is the longtime goal for Blender ? Be a niche product or be competitor to commercial products ?

To summarize I believe Blender should aim to become more a platform than a piece of software. Now we switch from a technical discussion to a marketing discussion. That's fine :-). The business challenge is not, to outnumber other products by the number of additional features or to create a geek too...

That's where the races are made. Sorry, but this is only one part of the decision board: The race is made by people, who: a) provide financing (Mean) b) see an advantage in the technology (Need) c) have the authority to decide (Authority) Considering Blender, these are the pro's and con's: a) Thoug...

you would absolutely consider it as a replacement? A different visual would help a lot. But then the next question is business continuity. So, blender should offer some professional support as well (comparable to MySQL for example). It is very funny, but companies tend to regard free open software ...
