It was a problem with the wrapped location vectors!

Looked closely at the vertex count of the output object. They were all stacked at the ending particle location. I thought it was a problem with setting the frame which it was apparently not. changed the line v.append(p.location) to v.append(p.location[:]) and it worked. ( also had to filter out part...

So far this is what I've got: import bpy from math import modf class PTZ_OT_convert(bpy.types.Operator): bl_idname = "parts.to_verts" bl_label = "r2p:particles to Points" @classmethod def poll(self, context): try: assert context.active_object.particle_systems.active != None has = True except (Asserti...

Accessing the locations of trail particles or approx alg?

I made a simple script to rip particle locations to a point mesh, but the trail particles are not included. Do I need to manipulate the current_frame and repeat the rip at various points in time? How would I get the particle locations at sub-step resolution in time? Just set the frame to a non-integ...

It has to do with the way context is passed to the op.

Spend any amount of time scripting and you will run into this problem. When operators are run there are various types of execution context such as whether to invoke or execute and from which level of the UI to take the context from. This could be as general as the whole window, or as specific as the...

I think i got those errors once...

Just to make sure we're on the same page here are the steps I take to compile with cmake on osx, cd Build/blender svn update blender svn update lib/... mkdir 54321 cd 54321 cmake ../blender ccmake . make -j5 make install open ./bin/blender.app most of the nitty gritty is in the ccmake step where you...

idk if there is a tutorial so I'll explain

first of all, sorry to confuse you with wrong info but I don't think it is called matte or if it is then it would be the wrong usage for this case... I was reading the release notes for this blender (2.64) and stumbled across the solution. Its called id-mask node and its in the compositor. so heres ...

this is not exactly coding blender

all you would do is make the inside of the box be a matte material. render the shot from the outside ( lets call it [A] ) and then using same camera animation, render what you want to see inside of the box (lets call that ) Then composite the two together so that B shows through A where the matte ma...

freeBSD? good on you! http://graphicall.org/freebsd has freebsd builds. unfortunately the last freebsd build posted appears to be feb 17th, 2012. user http://graphicall.org/xglasyliax is the only one compiling for bsd. AFAIK you should be able to compile your own without *too* much trouble. I haven'...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer, I guess.

1 (which OS?): Blender is cross platform (mac linux pc bsd ) so choose whichever you like. 2 (hardware + software?): Certainly, we all wish we had cad/3d workstation class processors and dual sli nvidia cards, but manage with laptops and crappy onboard video drivers. lol good computer runs good. 3 (...

hotkeys

If you don't mind a combo... [Ctrl]+[Tab] then hit [1], [2], or [3] while in edit mode, for vert, edge, face, respectively. Most of the menu items respond to numeric keys according to their index on the menu -- for example: [shift] + [s] brings up the menu for 3d-cursor-type-stuff, since the fourth th...

not sure but...

I think the problem is the order that scripts run at launch. Cycles is an addon -> addons are loaded after startup folder scripts. Perhaps some way to delay until blender is finished launching, make sure cycles is loaded/activated, then try your line of code line? I have my prefs set up in a startup...
