Well, I've been away a while <eep - so much to catch up on!> but I couldn't resist on the subject of long shots. Basically, I'm bestonked that no-one's mentioned Russian Ark yet! It's a 96 minute film - done in one take. It was shot using digital cameras and a rack of hot-swappable firewire harddriv...

Well, I would suggest to actually not start doing some "warrior" behaviour and such but start with simple rules ... I'd have to agree here. I think harkyman really has the right idea , splitting development up into modules is the way to go. As such, as he (gender inferred from name) said, the thing...

mr_rob, kudos for taking this on. I hope you're prepared for what a massive ( npi ) task it's going to be. That said, it's very do-able. The makehuman project is also a huge undertaking, and they've just got to 1.6. Anyway, enough fuzzy stuff. The first thing to do here is some research, so as not t...

Tested on FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE
Building from cvs code, seems to work fine. However, when rendering the monkey test file as it is given, my image doesn't quite match those posted (glass seems lighter - see here for comparison with Ton's as posted above). This could be to do with settings for fresnel falloff or something similar - ...

Re: Submenus should be radial, too
First of all, I've just been looking through the funboard archives, and seen that you've already discussed a lot of this there. My apologies for not checking earlier. Also, note that I think your actual categories and menu organisation is fine. It's just the layout I have issues with. So, regarding ...

Submenus should be radial, too
The whole point of a radial menu is to increase speed of common operations by making them gestures that can be "spinal reflex" memorised. Mixing radial and vertical menus gets confusing, and defeats the point somewhat. There's lots of good info available via a google search, but basically, the easie...

Re: Need Latest bf-blender binary for win32
currently there is some heavy development going on in the User Interface. So much in fact, that parts of the functionality are not accessible. So that's what's going on with my cvs build of bf-blender. I was wondering why SHIFT-F7 was doing odd things when I tried to load a bg image... Mind you, th...

Python 2.3, eh? Hmmm. Bf-blender is still using Python 2.2. Do you all still see the same problems if you compile and link against Python 2.2? *grumble* *Reinstall Python 2.2* *make coffee* *recompile tuhopuu* ... *blink* Whaddya know, it works. So, what's Python 2.3 got different that's breaking T...

Don't know if this is related or not, but more information can't hurt. I've been having segfaults myself, and I've put up the gdb output here.

I'm so glad that other people are having this problem. I thought I'd broken something, and couldn't figure out what. Anyway, it's fairly obvious from the core dump that the problem is something to do with python. Incidentally, I only started getting segfaults after I updated to python 2.3, but since...

Does anyone know how to achieve an effect like the lines around the inner parts of the object? Eeshlo's example (mentioned above) does this partially. From what I understand, this is a Non-Trivial problem - deciding what is an edge, what is a highlight, etc. My favourite resource for this is the St...
