not sure if it is open source... but it is free

I tested it extensively while making a DVD menu system

Thanks for the advice!! That sounds a little complicated for me... But I think a good but relatiely slow workaround would be to render an aditional image with a halo vertex or a really small plane at each center making one or two pixels of a specific intensity at each center. Then use Python Image L...

object image cords

Ok, so I need a way through python to find the pixel position that an object center is going to be located on in a final render. Does anyone have any cleaver ideas on how to do this?

Thanks,

As an experienced and long time blender user I am THRILLED at what is going on with the new interface and I hope it makes it to BF for next release! The initial look is much more crisp and enviting. - I love that buton function is not done by color anymore but by shape. The new check boxes and great...

It would be really easy to write a script to make a teapot. Come to think of it it wouldn't be too bad to write a script that would take a selected object and make it into a primitive that would regester in a script menu. The cool thing would be the ability to register scripts in the add menu so peo...

When breaking up the image into tiles is useful is when you are modeling and tweaking in a large scene. If you have your render farm sitting dormant while you are working why not have all or some of them render previews while you keep blending. What would be perfect is a system that did both. You co...

Another benefit of ngons is the possibility of what I like to call "non destructive mesh editing" . You could delete an edges in the middle of your mesh without getting rid of the faces. You could then strip down an edge line and make a new one without deleting or making faces I also think having th...

it would also be great if we could have the option for feet or inches.
When I have designed stuff in blender it is really a pain to whip out my calculator for the 1 and 1/8 and that kind of measurements.
Just a thought.

I think that this is a GREAT IDEA the workflow seems perfect You can not only use it to preview subsurf hard edges while not in subsirf mode but you can use it to effectively set smoothing groups. By your examples it is easy to see how much of a difference this can make in a low poly mesh. I just ho...

no more dupliframes?

did ayone notice that you can no longer do a dupliframes effect on a mesh that is traveling allong a curve since they put follow path as a constraint?
