No, I'd think a much easier way is to use curves to trace out your images then you can extrude them up and lastly convert to mesh. You can adjust the vertex handles to make hard edges for straight lines. I've never gone through that workflow, but I'm once you learn the right quick keys it would be p...

Help with SpaceMouse Pro and 2.64a!

Hello, I've gone from 2.63a to 2.64a and my spacemouse axes are behaving completely different! I have the latest Beta drivers from 3dConnexion. I can no longer zoom in ortho mode. While I'm in ortho top/left/right and I navigate the object orbits but the display stays in top/left/right and the grid ...

Will Cycles work with two cards, one ati, the other nvidia?

I've got a ubuntu linux box and an ATI 5770 graphics card.

Can I keep the ATI for my display and simply pop in an Nvidia to help with Cycles GPU rendering?? Do multiple cards need to be the same brand/model?

Thanks,

Python API for input devices?

Hi I'm looking to make an input device to work along side the primary mouse(tablet).

Where can I find the python api for this? I need to distinguish between the two devices.

Many thanks for any help.

You haven't said what it is you don't understand, that would help me help you... If you want a variable that you can access via both GUI and python, "custom properties" is the only (easy) way I know how to do that. So set a custom property (either in the gui or with python) and then you can access i...

1) see my post on assigning custom properties to meshes. you can do the same for lights or cameras. When you do that the properties will show up in the gui under "custom properties" tab.

2)

Code: Select all

import bpy

if "<name_of_plane>" in bpy.data.objects:
    #do something

Here's a script that will add a number of custom properties to selected scene meshes as well as adjust the min max values: import bpy props = ["prop1","prop2","prop3"] value = 0 min_val = -10 max_val = 10 objects = bpy.context.selected_objects for obj in objects: if (obj.type == "MESH"): for prop in...

What you really need to do is flush your stdout buffer after printing.

import sys
...
...
sys.stdout.flush()

Searching around a bit more, I've found a couple tutorials for making gui's using geometry and sensors/controllers/actuators. However, I haven't been able to find out how to print generated text on screen and how to accept text as input. All the examples use texture mapped rasterized text for button...

Python Gui for Game Engine

I'm looking to make a very simple interactive scene with the game engine. A camera navigating a scene with objects. However, as I'm navigating, I need to be able to select objects with my mouse and bring up common/custom properties for that object, as well as enter/save information (ascii type) abou...
