Glad the append scene workaround worked for you.

I filed a bug on this..

Re: Successful compile but no menus!?

It's possible blender is not finding the python scripts directory correcly... when this happens the UI starts up pretty empty.

Re: Operator slot in tool shelf has gone in specific blend f

One possibility is that you accidentally shrunk the operator panel in the toolshelf to be zero height. I just tested this with 2.57a, and it is in fact possible to do so. (maybe this should be a bug?) Unfortunatly, I don't see any obvious way to get it back. It might be possible to issue some kind o...

Where exactly might those be?
Let's not flood the developer forums with feature suggestion discussions.

One can find the developer forums behind the 'getting involved' links on the website.

Re: About feature requests

Feature Request: merge old 2.49 and new 2.5 'space menu'

The 2.5 space menu search is nice functionality, when you want to type and search. However, the 2.49's hierarchal space menu was far more useful to me as a semi-novice blender user. This is because I could usefully navigate the hierarchy of stuff when I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for. I pr...

feature requests link broken

The "feature requests" link in the forum stick appears to be broken. On the forum sticky about feature requests, it has a link that points here: http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?atid=128&group_id=9&func=browse However, when I click on this link (and login) it says: Error ArtifactType: Invalid Ar...

This does not match my experience. When I press space in 2.49, I receive a menu whose top level contains ALOT more than adding. It appears to be a hierarchal subset of many useful functions. The first level includes: Add Edit Select Transform Object View Render The 2.5 shift-A "add menu" only contai...

2.49->2.5 'new space menu' motivation?

First off, I'm by no means a 3d professional or a blender expert. That said, I have learned enough to do mesh modeling in blender 2.49. In checking out 2.5.2, it looks like quite a bit of progress and change is happening. Many changes simply take some time getting used to, but one change in 2.5 conf...
