Status of import e, f, v > (2 << 16 or 64K) ???

Status of import e, f, v > (2 << 16 or 64K) ??? Anyone know if Blender will import scenes with lots of edges, polys, or verts ? What's the current limit. The 64K limit has been a real sore spot for me with lots of apps. Every once in a while I like to see who has made some strides to break away from...

How much of Blender Win32 is assembler optimized ?

How much of Blender Win32 is assembler optimized ? Just curious. Trying to recall how hard it would be to make this app handle 2^16 + 1 polygons. And what's the status of development ? Is there a group of developers at this point ? Who is in control and what are the current objectives. Probably ther...

You'd hit the 64K limit all the time if you made models like these ... http://www.ggaliens.com/cont2003.jpg And you be dissappointed if the software did not make any attempt to at least tell or make the user aware of such a limitation. C'mon ... couldn't someone just add a warning that says model ha...

What the heck ? Blender is 16bit cripped ?

What the heck ? Blender is 16bit cripped ? With respect to geometry counts/limits ? If this is true, can we fix that for next release ? Shame shame on the programmers who have fathered this software for the last several years. Harware is getting FAST these days. Let's throw of the kid glove and get ...

The more I look at High-poly VRML import ...

The more I look at High-poly VRML import ...

The more it looks like Blender is just plain screwing up on high-poly import. Maybe I need to look at the source code to try and verify this. Or maybe a Blender Programmer could just flat out say whether there should be ang serious geometry-count limits.

How to import wavefront OBJ with UVs ?

How to import wavefront OBJ with UVs ?

I had a script and then misplaced it. Seems like it should have been popular. It worked very well.

Please, if someone can point me to such a python script, I'd be very happy.

Well, KayosIII seems to have done a nice job with the VRML

Well, KayosIII seems to have done a nice job with the VRML export. I hope he get's Bjorn to adopt it soon. I did have some trouble with it when I tried it on an object with sub-objects. I found that Blender and other apps seems to require me to do a combine in Wings3D in order that KayosIII's plugin...

OK ...

OK ... Nhytro, Tobor, your ideas are good. However, I'm just sorta feeling my way around right now ... looking for significant improvements in workflow between Wings3D and Blender. I have uses a Python .OBJ/UV importer and I know I'll be able to find same one again if I need to. Didn't want to go to...

Who is to fix the crash bug ?

Is that Bjorn and/or KayosIII ? Or is it a blender bug ... with the material.

I guess the go-around is satisfactory.

Thanks for the info fellas.

Yep. HyperCam works well too.

Yep. HyperCam works well too.

And free version has a very light-weight logo which is unobtrusively placed. I've used it very successfully.

Anyone importing Wings3D via Wings VRML export ?

Anyone importing Wings3D via Wings VRML export ? My understanding is that one can bring the NGONs and UVs and all the good stuff along with the current versions of both programs. I think Wings3D/Blender is a great match. But just recently I tried BlenderPublisher2.25 and needed a key, and then it ju...

This is what I do.

Create a new mat.
Create a new texture for the mat.
Load an image.

I think the answer is I do the second thing you mention.

I did turn filtering down. That seemed to make me happy.

I'm starting to get the picture of what's happening.

If I turn OverSampling off, then the artifacts go away. Now I just need to be educated on exactly what oversampling is doing under the covers. It makes sense that oversampling would be difficult on a per-face mapping. So at least now I can proceed with more care. I can still get "anti-aliased" versi...
