We use Blender for three years in our company. From my current POV i mostly do not like the concept. The membership options are evil, it leaves people out by definition (even me, using Blender as an professional) or let them charge for services they dont need. The rest of the concept is too basic to...

I'm about to port an exporter script from 2.49 to 2.56. The exporter also saves or copies used textures alongside the exported meshes. But i've a few problems with "generated" and "packed" textures. DirectX 10 was feature-wise in advance when they released it because of the implementation of geometry shaders. But usually new features are first available in OpenGL so i can not understand your point. There is definately no lack of features and OpenGL is developed to deliver cutting edge graphics ...
