Re: Changing the mouse commands

To sum up, this is what I think we should do: 1, Make LMB the selection button. 2, Make LMB do a borderselect when you drag 3, Move the 'set 3d cursor' command from LMB to RMB 4, Get rid of the gestures completely, or move them to RMB drag 5, Have an option to enable the old way of doing this for p...

But the first place new users find themselves is here not at elYsiun. Noobs are going to continue to be...

The whole objects start in editmode thing is efficient but does confuse new people, as does the mouseclick selection combos, gestures, and the translation hotkeys(G,R,S). It never occured to me to look at the toolbox and work out the hotkeys :? - but it shouldn't have to be the only way to discipher...

"Multiple-Light-Dome" suggestion

Wouldn't it be good if under the Lights option on the tool box there was a "dome of lights" primitive. Click this and a array of linked lights would appear in your scene maybe all editable from 1 parent light. I think 3dmax introduce an option like this in version4 or something. This would allow nic...

Yes Go for it.
I love the button changes, you will probably have to keep an option to switch back to the old look for the sentimental types  but I like the quiet seriousness feel you got going. The stimulating impact of a fresh look can't be denied.

Blender has no "instant-mirror"button but no matter, you can achieve the same in any 3D software with just a few extra clicks. To create a mirror image of an object duplicate it ( Shift-D ) hit escape so you don't move it. Now scale the copy -1 in the Z axis (its best just to press N key to access t...
