Try parenting a few lights up to your camera,so they follow its motions. be sure that they cover the camera's entire perspective. Then, when the camera moves around the scene, the lights will follow. Unfortunately, if you pan the camera around, this won't work (look mommy! The sun is moving all over...

I like that idea. You could tag a vertice as a refernce point, then check if it moved far enough to warrant a motion blur. Here's what the logic would look like, I think:

If vertice1motion > 2 pixels then motionblur = ON

pretty simple. Don't know what it would look like in actual CODE, but...

Where's that Green-Screening Plugin?

I remember hearing something about a green-screen plugin for Blender. I'm going to be doing some visual FX work on a movie some friends are making over spring break, and I'm planning on using Blender to do some of the visuals (specifically, we'll be doing a bluescreen of a guy who's supposed to be a...

Is it alyaws pinkish, or does you get pinkish artifacts where menus pop up? I know that when I had hardware AA turned on with my GF2MX400 it would do all sorts of strange things, like (drumroll...) turn pinkish. See if that's turned on, and turn it off if it iss.

I'm betting it's the ATI card, I've heard reports that their stuff isn't very friendly with the Blender implementation of OpenGL. Got another vid card you could swap in, to see if this is the problem? :?

For render format converters, set one of the windows to the Text Editor screen (the icon looks like a little sheet of paper), click the "--" button, select "Open new" and select the script you want. Enter the setings the script wants, then press alt+p and the script will run.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm *trying* to try out yafray, but I'm having a hard time of it. I missed that you have DL a few different packages to make it work, and only got the most recent update, sans important supporting files.

Instead of environment-mapping every frame, which takes forever (no, duh! :) ), you could try just making a star texture + other non-moving objects like planets, if you want them. Then apply it to the to ship's material and click the "ref" button in the group of texture coordinate buttons. It should...

Okay, so I've finally gotten around to DL-ing -Blender to Renderman converters and I go to the Exluna site to get BMRT, only to discover... BMRT is no longer available for download!! :( Is there a mirror someplace where I could still get it, or some equivalent Renderman-compliant renderers I could d...
