Render Passes

Hi all, i know that Ton is working very hard on the render re-code, but when looking at the recent CVS commits, i noticed that passes are already coded in blender. By default they are disabled when building, is there any way i can build with them enabled and give them a test. If someone tells me how...

Thanks lguillaume, i managed to build with CVS. I am interested in using the new render passes, but i an unsure weather they are properly implemented and useable. I would like to use the render passes to do an AO pass then save it, then not need to render the AO again. Is this possible?[/quote]

How do i build Orange?

Hi, could someone please tell me how to compile the Orange branch of Blender. Do i need to download the orange files from cvs? How do i then specify to build the orange build. I am using linux (Fedora Core 4) and i can build the normal bf-blender cvs.

From what i have experianced, everything and anything is possible in Blender, basically. But a lot of the time it has to be faked, or used a work around. But since its free u can't complain. Plus at its current devlopment rate, it will be very very good in a few years. At the moment, its only Amazin...

This type of things has been tried many times on elysiun and as yet has nto worked. You say professional users, they dont have time to work on an amatuer project. And the amatuer users dont have the staying power. To make an animated film it takes so f**king long, and so much work. It will never be ...

I dont like the new zoom either and i would like to see a user preferance button to chose between the old and new style. I cant beleive such a core workflow feature like this could be changed without leaving the old compatability in.

Ditto with the zoom thing, the new zooming with the middle mous button is the most annoying thing ever. Please at le\st put an option in between this and the old way. Otherwise ill have to dig up some old blender code and find out how to change it back for my own build. Im really dissapointed with w...

I whole heartedly agree that more code documentation is needed. Have you looked at the source code, some of the files have comments about what they do, but of them just dont. I think that from now on if a feature is added the coder should be forced to comment his code fully.

Just because no one has stepped up in your support then dont let it stop you. If you can do it, then go for it.
