Um... just a thought. Doesn't enabling ztransp activate face sorting? If so, that would be a pointless slowdown for just alpha testing.

Other than that, great job! It's wonderful to see that someone is still working on the game engine :D

That's great bjornmose, I'm glad Blender's texture paint is finaly getting some new features :D The features I've most wished for when using texture paint were. - Ability to adjust the hardness/softness of the brush. - Loading grescale images as brushes. - Drawing straight lines. - Undo Everything i...

I wish I could answer your question koex. For now, if it works, then it's at least on the right track.

Oh, and thanks for a new build, downloading it right now :)

There's no limits to importing modules in game blender, assuming you have your python path set.

If you don't have your python path set, then you can only import modules in the current working directory.

Blender's realtime engine uses the vertex colours for diffuse colour.

The hardness slider works in realtime.

The specular colour sort-of works, if you make a material with hardness 1, specularity 2.0, set all it's faces to recieve realtime light, you'll be able to see the specular colour clearly.

hitting set-smooth did the trick. (Weird, I thought I'd tried that before...)

The envmap looks weird in ortho mode too, but it's a different weirdness. In ortho mode it looks kind of distorted, not disco-ball-like :P

Thank you for your help everybody, I really appreciate it :D

envmap weirdness

I'm not sure if this is a blender bug, or something wrong with my computer. When I try to make a texture an envmap (little sphere in the image window) It looks faceted and ugly. Here's a screenshot to show what I mean: http://brainstorm-studios.net/wiseman/weirdness.jpg This didn't always happen tho...

I'm not sure how much of this you might already know, so I appologize if I mention something that seems obvious. Game objects (the ones you get with controller.getOwner()) are limited in the types of properties they can have. (Ints, floats, and strings, I think.) I ran into this problem when I was t...

Yes. Use your sprite as a texture on a plane, make sure face of the plane faces it's -x (Negative X) axis, (a Blender peculiarity,) To make this easier, go to the edit buttons and click 'axis' with your object selected. Then go to the paint buttons, and set the face to 'halo' this will make it alway...

Simple, pull down the top edge of the 3d window, a whole bunch of new buttons will be revealed. Look for a button somewhere in the middle that says 'no mipmaps' and click it.

Awsome scene by the way. I love those textures.

Why does it render slower in 32 bit then??? Hmm... I think that although textures are converted to 8 bit, vertex colours (including changes from light or fog) and world (background) colours are displayed at the bit depth that windows is running at. I don't really have time for lots of in-depth test...

Yes, that would be nice, although if you are careful with your textures you can make them look pretty good at only 8 bits. Because each texture uses its own pallette. I did an experiment to test that. The way i tested it was to make an image that was divided into 256 boxes, each a different colour ...
