Unfied Layout Style

Since the Blender Summer of Docs is going to be focused on print style documents only I suggest to get some sort of unfied layout style up and running. It is of course Ton's call what format we should use and deliver, but I would like to suggest the OpenOffice Writer format (.sxw V.1.1, as it's OS X...

Blender Knowledge Map

To get going with the Blender Education plans at the change of years 2005/2006 I started mapping out what I call the Blender Knowlege Map , a general Meta-Description of 'what can be known about Blender' including a quick listing of Meta Information Architecture on types of knowledge and their varia...

Blender on MacIntel?

Is there any work/testing of Blender on MacIntel allready in the works? Is there any trouble expected?

I just wanted to know because I'm planning to buy an Intel Mac ASAP and would feel better if I knew there wouldn't be to much trouble getting a Blender version for that plattform.

If I'll make it to the conference I'll be there.

Hey Rui. I'm not entirely shure if I'll make it, but it's like a 80% chance I will. If I make it I'll definitely be there for the pre-conference dinner you're organizing. Sidenote: Xical 2 is nearly ready for a release candidate btw. (one of the reasons for my tight schedule) Kind regards to all Ble...

Yafray / Mac OS X 'Panther': Segfault Error

Hi. I'm using the newest Blender 2.33 with the newest YaBleX and Yafray on Mac OS X 'Panther' (10.3). Rendering in Yafray from Blender/YaBleX wouldn't work, so I tried to render from the command line, passing the xml file as a parameter. All goes well until yafray load (presumably the first) mesh .x...

Plugin Documentation - Where to find?

Hi. I've just gotten the Texture CD which is really cool. There are also tons of plugins on it. Yet I can't find a single documentation on any of them of even how to use them!!! How can I tell a plugin was loaded? What can I do to load a plugin? Is it enough to just place it in the plugin directory?...

Problem solved:

You weren't quite right about 2.27 working (it didn't ... and I need the gameengine :-) ) but I solved the problem by doing this (as root): >>> ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.so /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 <<< Basically as a Linux user you have to see if you've got the "libstdc++-...

Blender on Linux - "dead"?

After some recent problems with current versions of Blender on Linux I'd like to know how the Linux branch of Blender is progressing. Shure Linux is serious OSS territory and Blender has gone OSS along with great applause from the free software people, but I have no idea of how the OSS community aro...

Serious problems with Blender (publisher, retail version) on

I've been using blender since 3 years but haven't had any kind of problems that are compareable with those I have now. The first thing that struck just a moment ago is that there is no forum whatsoever dealing with blender problems (or did I overlook something??) Then there is this problem: I purcha...

Blenders hard and long way from commercial to OSS code

A few threads down there's a discussion going on about weedy code, lack of comments and developer documentation and everything else that bothers a closed source software going OSS. Just like with Netscape/Mozillla, remember? Anyway, there was a mentioning in this thread about defining the users side...

Subject: Printy is an airhead (and has a very small wee-wee). Hey, snotnose. Why don't you post your verbal droppings somewhere else - maybe on that page you linked and that goes by hideously insulting Ton Roosendaal (and misspelling his name) - and show us some serious 3D images you've made? Other...
