So displacement mapping in blender is only viewable when you render the object? Is anyone planning on making real displacement modeling, so that, for instance, I can use a displacement map to make a flat plane into a mountain/terrain object, for it to become the actual mesh? If you have the 2.3 man...

I've gotten used to closing it instead of minimizing. I always invoke it with [N] anyway, why minimize?

A job well done. Once again. Just to pick on something - I don't like the dark grey area that shows button groups. I'd like the area to have a lighter shade of grey, like on the right (near inactive buttons)

I remember an official .blend file with the official logo. I just spent 10 minutes googling and I'm going to the movies in 2 mins. So look for a blend file. That's al the help I can give you. Of course, if you only need the logo, model it yourself ;)

If you want to create commercial games and such, then there should be an .exe exporter somewhere... I've seen Blender-made .exe games. (everyone should know nurse.exe :wink: )

Join - (ctrl+J) - joins two or more selected objects into one object. Union - (w) - a boolean operation that creates a third mesh out of two selected meshes. Parent - (ctrl+P) - creates a relationship between two or more selected objects, of which one will become the parent. The parent's transformat...

Someone please explain to me what this "real" radiosity is? Blender has two types of radiosty (as I categorized them) - the really simple and the really complicated :D

Why not gather some ideas, build a better help menu, call it an improved feature and commit it? Not that much work, is it?
Speaking as a non-coder and absolute moron, of course.

There is a fullscreen button in the upper-right corner of the blender window. If you mean the ctrl+up "fullscreen modelling mode", as I call it: the first thing I ever learned about using Blender - keep one hand on your keyboard and the other on the mouse. Now hard is it to press the combo with one ...

Think fullscreen.

Anywho, I need a developer to correct me, but in Windows, wouldn't connecting the quit-function to the windows interface make the code Windows-specific, thus separating development? Then again, my longest program in C++ was 50 lines long :lol:

From a design point of view, I don't think the dialog boxes would need a header with a cross because

cancel=X
and
cancel>X
therefore
X!=anything
and
cancel=default, enter

Not sure what you mean. You have to be in edit mode to see half of the panels (for a mesh). This panels system was introduced in 2.30 and the tutorial may be slightly outdated. Now, if you extrude vertices, you can limit the extrusion to full units by holding [ctrl], there is a extrude dup setting i...
